While spending time recently refining our website into a more user-friendly design, I rediscovered our blog section! I couldn’t believe that the last update was from our Summer Concert 2025 — and now, our Summer Concert 2026 is just around the corner this July (stay tuned!).

In this post, I am delighted to share some very special news — I was honoured to be awarded the Anglia Ruskin University Vice-Chancellor’s Alumni Rising Star Award.

From being shortlisted, to standing alongside six other outstanding ARU alumni finalists, and ultimately being selected as the winner — it has been an incredibly exciting and meaningful journey. This award represents not only a personal milestone, but also recognition of the growth and impact of music therapy work we have developed over the past year.

Over the past year, we have visited over ten care homes, many of which had never previously offered music therapy group sessions. It has been deeply rewarding to introduce regular sessions and witness the positive responses from residents, particularly those living with dementia. In addition, we have expanded our work into youth shelters and university settings, bringing creative and therapeutic music experiences to a wider community. Thanks for all the risks, hence opportunities. I hope our story inspires you, or simply brings a moment of joy as we continue to brighten our community together.
