2026 Summer Student Concert Recap

Our 2026 Summer Student Concert which concluded last weekend was a very special milestone for us, welcoming our highest number of performers and audience members to date. With around 40 students taking to the stage and a growing audience of families and friends, we moved to a larger venue for the first time.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to St John the Evangelist’s Church, Cambridge, for welcoming us and accommodating our event at relatively short notice.

In the Director’s speech, I shared how touched I was by our senior students who, despite having just completed important exams, generously gave their time and took on key roles in supporting and performing at the concert.

I was equally proud of our younger and newer students who accepted the challenge of sharing their music on stage, including some who had been learning their instruments for less than six months. Their courage and enthusiasm reminded us that performing is not only about achieving a certain standard, but also about building confidence, celebrating progress, and enjoying music together.

Organising a concert is never easy, but the experience of preparing, performing, supporting one another, and sharing music with an audience is truly unique. This is exactly why we continue to create these opportunities for our students.
