Jaris Yiu

Director

Qualifications:

  • Winner of Anglia Ruskin University Vice-Chancellor's Outstanding Alumni Award 2026

  • MA Music Therapy

  • BSc Counseling and Psychology

  • ABRSM grade 8 violin

  • ABRSM grade 8 piano

Having completed a BA Hons Counselling and Psychology Degree in Hong Kong, Jaris has qualified from her MA Music Therapy at Anglia Ruskin University. Jaris is a qualified counsellor in Hong Kong and has rich experiences in working with children and adults.

Jaris has been teaching violin for over ten years. Student age ranged from kindergarten kids to adult, a recent student has been accepted by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music (Junior programme). She has rich experiences in preparing ABRSM graded Exams, solo competitions and performances. Her music lessons are focusing on student's learning motives and music appreciation. Jaris can be found most weekends going to the suburbs for an outing.

Stephanie Cheung

Music Therapist

Erhu and Piano Teacher

Qualifications:

  • HCPC - registered Music Therapist

  • Bachelor of Music

  • MA Music Therapy

  • ATCL Piano

  • Awarded several Hong Kong government scholarships.

Stephanie graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a bachelor degree in Music, before being qualified as a music therapist at Anglia Ruskin University. Not only majoring in Erhu performance, she also attained the ATCL in Piano Recital. During her years of study, she was awarded scholarships by the Hong Kong government and various academies. Stephanie has extensive experience working with children for over 7 years across various settings and age ranges, including mainstream and special schools in both Cambridgeshire and Hong Kong.

Jan Ong

Jan holds an MA in Music Therapy, awarded with Distinction, and is passionate about helping people of all ages explore and express themselves through music. She has experience supporting children and young people in SEND settings, working with adults in mental health and psychiatric services, and teaching piano, helping individuals build confidence and enjoyment in music.

Osborne Lee

Music Therapist

Osborne has a background in psychology and music therapy, with experience working full-time in a special educational needs (SEN) school in Hong Kong. He has also been teaching violin for over seven years, helping children build their passion, creativity, and musicality.

With a deep love for music, Osborne aims to support his clients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through both psychodynamic and behavioural approaches.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing drums and acoustic fingerstyle guitar, finding joy in rearranging songs and sharing the expressive power of music.

Queenie Wong

Music Therapist

  • Over 20 years of teaching and performing             

Queenie graduated with distinction from the master’s in music therapy at Anglia Ruskin University. She has a heartfelt passion for supporting children with special needs, helping them grow in confidence, communication, movement, and emotional wellbeing through music. She is also a Neurologic Music Therapist and qualified Music Therapy Assessment Tool for Awareness in Disorders of Consciousness (MATADOC) assessor. She is keen to work with clients of diverse needs, including patients in neurorehabilitation and older adults in care homes, bringing comfort, connection, and resilience through music. 

 

She graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a bachelor’s degree in music, majoring in saxophone performance. She is an accomplished saxophonist with over 20 years of experience in teaching and performing. Demonstrated expertise in saxophone instruction, ensemble coaching, with a strong foundation in music theory and ensemble playing. Proven track record of leading performances as principal saxophonist and delivering professional concert performances. Students won numerous prizes in music festivals, achieved merit and distinction in ABRSM and ATCL examinations and High Scorers of ABRSM.

Hui Han Lui

Piano Teacher and accompanist
 

  • PhD in Music, Maynootth University, Ireland

  • MA in Performance and Musicology

  • BMus (Music Performance), First Class Honours

  • LTCL in piano with Distinction
     

Hui Han Lui is a pianist, researcher, and music educator. Her performances have been recognised with several awards, including the Yamaha Scholarship (2017), and she was a finalist in the First International ASWARA Piano and Vocal Competition.

 

Alongside modern piano, she also has an interest in historical keyboard instruments. This has led her to participate in a number of specialised academies and international courses, including Historical Piano Summer Academy, the Early Music Summer Course in Magnano (Italy), and masterclasses organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

 

As an educator, Hui has over ten years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels. She has prepared students for piano performance and music theory examinations, as well as recitals and competitions. During her doctoral studies, she also taught at Maynooth University, where she delivered individual and group piano lessons and music theory tutorials.

Karen Poon

Piano Teacher

Karen has achieved Grade 8 Classical Piano and enjoys playing as an accompanist or in a band in her spare time. She also enjoy playing the guitar and the drums. She graduated with a master's degree in Computer and Information Engineering at Cambridge University.

With over 8 years of teaching experience, she has developed and implemented individualised lesson plans that cater to students’ unique needs and examination requirements. ​​

From a young age, she served as a church pianist and accompanist, played in ensembles with flute and percussion, and sung alto in choirs. She is passionate about ensembleship and theory.

Tim is an avid pianist that started playing at a young age and achieved ATCL level at 13. He has 15 years of piano accompaniment experience in church. In recent years, he has also played at various weddings.

Harmony Li

Piano Teacher​ and accompanist

Harmony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Psychology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), focusing on music pedagogy. She has 4 years of experience teaching piano to children. Currently, she is pursuing Music Therapy studies at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). Harmony was awarded the Multi-faceted Excellence Scholarship by the HKSAR Government and an International Scholarship from ARU. She is passionate about inspiring a love for music and guiding students to reach their full potential.
